"Piled Up Dead" opens with a violin piece that sets an ominous tone for the six brutal death metal tracks that follow. The tunes on "Piled Up Dead" are mostly mid-paced numbers that allow time and space to display the dynamics of each song. The guttural vocals aren’t exactly my cup of tea, but the distance between the frequency of the low vocals mixed with the instrumentation seems to be perfect in the way that neither treads on their sonic territory.

With graphic photo images to back up the edgy lyrics, Viscera Trail present a comprehensive, competent package that should impress any fan of the brutal death metal genre.
